My journey began in 2017, during one of the most challenging periods of my life. A loved one was undergoing chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, and my family was grappling with this health crisis (all, mercifully, well now). In the midst of it all, I found solace in a lifelong passion—cricket. Drawn to the nostalgia of the sport’s golden era, I immersed myself in the pursuit of lost cricket footage.
What began as a coping mechanism set the stage for a deeper, more fulfilling journey. From my home in California, I made countless late-night calls to Mumbai’s Films Division, chasing fragments of history. After an arduous search, I uncovered something extraordinary—a vast collection of newsreels documenting every cricket match filmed in India since 1948. Without hesitation, I paid the charges and had this treasure trove shipped home.
What began as a personal escape soon evolved into a larger mission—to restore and share these priceless moments with cricket lovers across generations.
Determined to make these rare archives accessible to fans worldwide, I launched Jai Galagali, a non-profit YouTube channel dedicated to preserving cricket’s legacy. Today, the channel has grown to over 38,500 subscribers and amassed lakhs of views, bringing forgotten matches, unseen footage, and lost stories back to life through meticulous research and restoration.
My work has been recognised by The Hindu, Sportstar, and Stanford University, and has earned praise from cricketing legends such as Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Erapalli Prasanna, Syed Kirmani, G. R. Vishwanath, B. S. Chandrasekhar, and the Pataudi family, as well as Dr. Shashi Tharoor.
A Voice for a Cause
Beyond cricket, I am also a voiceover artist with a deep, resonant baritone that aims to breathe life into stories. Whether narrating a documentary, voicing an audiobook, or delivering a powerful message, my goal is to make every word captivating, authentic, and impactful.
My distinctive baritone has amplified the message of non-profit organizations, captivated viewers throughout successful fundraising documentaries, and brought stories to life for visually impaired children in schools across the country. Each project benefits from my ability to convey authentic emotion with nuanced precision.
